The welcoming atmosphere enhances the dining experience, making visitors feel at home. Many rave about the Sunday roast, noting the exceptional quality of the dishes, especially the cauliflower cheese, which has become a standout item.
The homemade lasagna garners admiration, far from the typical microwave meal many expect. The craft behind every dish showcases the skill of the kitchen team, ensuring satisfaction. The pub's vibrant beer garden adds to the charm, making it a great place to enjoy drinks with friends or family after a hearty meal.
While The Carpenters Arms shines in many areas, some guests mention the occasional wait time during peak hours. Busy weekends, especially during Sunday lunch, can lead to longer waits for food, but the quality often compensates for the delay. Some visitors have expressed a desire for more vegetarian options, though the offerings are solid and cater to different tastes.
Occasionally, the casual vibe may lead to a noisier environment, predominantly on match days. Those seeking a quieter meal might prefer visiting on weekdays, away from peak sporting events when the pub is packed with enthusiastic fans.
I would like to thank the landlord which I never got his name , phoned pasted 3 pm this last Sunday for sunday dinner for 3 and made space for u all as we were staying in pendine sands , the food was excellent i ate some stuff i never tried b4 but. Was outstanding, the afters were exceptional, but tbe best thing was how welcoming he was when we arrived . From the butcher from south Wales never forget this place will call back soon 🙏
A sure sign of a good place to eat for me is a homemade lasagna that isn't just a bowl of hot melted cheese chucked in the microwave. The lasagna here was great. The team here are really friendly and welcoming. We were travelling by bicycle and the bikes were kept securely overnight.
A lovely 2 nights away. Big shout out to Beccs and Pete who have us a warm welcome, excellent food and accommodation that met all our requirements. The beer is excellent and the food is also excellent. Would recommend the sharing platter and the fish which is truly a taste of the sea.
Can not fault this little gem. We didn't stay in the rooms so can't comment on this but the food was amazing!!.. arrived on Tuesday without reservation and staff were so friendly and welcoming we returned Thursday for 'pie and pint' day plus that filling was amazing. Also thumbs up for the Guinness & stilton. The landlady was warm, inviting friendly and chatty so I can not fault the service. If I am ever down south Wales again I would most definitely call in again.
Had the most amazing family Sunday lunch. Would give more stars if available. Beautifully cooked fresh produce, and the best cauliflower cheese I've ever tasted. Really friendly and attentive staff made the experience even better. Thank you.
We had a fabulous Sunday roast here - everything was perfectly and properly done! I was so impressed. Great portions too we were left with that proper Sunday feeling! All served in a lovely pub by super friendly staff. Very dog friendly too which is hugely appreciated. I highly recommend
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We had the most incredible stay at The Carpenters Arms in Laugharne – hands down one of the best experiences we’ve ever had! From the moment we arrived, Pete and Bex were the perfect hosts. Nothing was too much trouble – they went out of their way to accommodate our dietary requirements, and the food was absolutely phenomenal. Every meal was spot-on, beautifully cooked, and bursting with flavour. The service was 5-star throughout – not only from Pete and Bex but also from their wonderful staff, who made us feel so welcome and at home. The rooms were spotless, comfortable, and a real cut above what you’d expect – the perfect base for exploring the area. And what an area it is! Laugharne itself is magical, with Dylan Thomas’ Boathouse just a short walk away. We also loved visiting Laugharne Castle, Pendine Sands, Tenby, and Carew Castle, all within easy reach. There’s a perfect mix of history, stunning coastline, and beautiful countryside right on the doorstep. We honestly can’t recommend The Carpenters Arms highly enough – whether you’re staying the night or just dropping in for a meal, you’ll be treated like family. Pete and Bex are truly the heart and soul of this place, and it shows in every detail. We can’t wait to come back – a proper Welsh gem! 🌟
